If you are thinking of getting some chooks for your backyard, this workshop will cover all aspects of chicken husbandry.
You will learn about:
» Advantages and constraints of having chooks
» Feeding chooks for good health
» Safe housing against predators
» The different breeds and which is suited to your needs
» Some possible diseases and health issues
» Preventative measures to avoid ailing chickens
» How to grow some backyard chook food
We will also construct a portable chook house (chook tractor) for use on garden beds and grass. It will be built from recycled materials where possible.
Cost: $20 (includes morning tea and sausage sizzle lunch)
