| Open Day and Permaculture Day |

WHERE: Moss Vale Community Garden
When: May, 2011
An activity day to sequester atmospheric carbon into our soils.
Participants came dressed to get down and dirty on this workshop day, making compost, watching biochar being produced and a discussion of how to use it, working to create a no-dig raised garden bed, worm farming and planting and sowing a green manure crop for increased soil carbon. A big thanks goes out to all those who participated, in particular, Tim Flaus and Phil Arundell who ran the composting and bio char demonstrations with great skill and enthusiasm. Our soils at the community garden will be greatly enhanced with organic matter ready for our mass spring planting thanks to the resources produced during this open day celebrating National Permaculture Day.
