WHERE: Moss Vale Community Garden
The community garden is in the final flush of food production before the first frost, so we are having an Open Day on Saturday 1st May to show off our "almost finished" strawbale shelter shed and our home-made solar cooker.
We will be celebrating National Permaculture Day by displaying all things sustainable:
Solar cooker
No-dig gardening
Chooks in the backyard
Water conservation around the garden, including a demonstration of water tank installation, drip and spray irrigation systems and solar water pumping set ups.
Gates open at 11.00am with a no-dig garden demo at 11.30am and various tours and demonstrations up until 2.20pm when Richard Manning from Aquamann will give a talk on backyard irrigation systems and solar pumping systems.
Entry is by gold coin donation, and there will be a $2 sausage sizzle and hot drinks available on site, plus organically-grown plants and permaculture calendars and diaries for sale.
An action-packed day! Hope you can join us and support this great initiative!
